Privacy Notice
This notice describes the information ScentStop actually holds today, why we hold it and what you can ask us to do with it.
Pre-launch controller information
ScentStop is pre-launch. The legal entity acting as data controller, along with its registered address and any data protection contact, will be identified here before public registration and online sales open. We have not stated an entity because one has not been confirmed for publication.
What we collect
Only what the site genuinely uses today:
- Account identity. Your email address, and a name or profile picture if you provide one or if it comes from the sign-in provider you chose.
- Saved fragrances. The compositions you save to your account.
- Delivery addresses and preferences. Only where you enter them yourself in your account.
- Enquiries. The name, email and message you send through Contact.
- Partnership applications. The contact, organisation and location information submitted when applying, and organisation and location records for approved partners.
- Technical and security information. Data needed to keep you signed in, protect our forms from abuse and keep the service running.
Online ordering is not open, so no order or payment information is collected at present. When it opens, this notice will be updated before it is.
Why we hold it
- to create and operate your account and keep it secure
- to remember the fragrances and details you choose to save
- to reply to enquiries and partnership applications
- to operate partner access and location records for approved organisations
- to protect the site against misuse and to meet our legal obligations
Legal grounds
We rely on performing a contract with you where you hold an account, our legitimate interests in running and protecting ScentStop and in responding to business enquiries, your consent where we ask for it, and legal obligation where one applies.
How long we keep it
Account information is kept while your account is open. Enquiries and partnership applications are kept while relevant to the conversation and to our records. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove information we no longer need to hold.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask for access to your information, correction of it, deletion, restriction of processing, and portability where it applies. You can also object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent where we relied on it.
Send a request through Contact. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Cookies and browser storage
How sign-in and remembered preferences use your browser is described in the Cookie Notice.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice as ScentStop develops, particularly before online ordering opens. The date at the top shows the current version.
